INSPIRATION YET TO BE WRITTEN
After talking about the market evolution and the new Consumer Social Responsibility, we have asked ourselves: how can organizations be inspired in order to respond to the emerging needs of our society? Where does innovation come from? The answer is around us.
Let others inspire you. Let life itself be your inspiration. Seek emotions, and feel them. Change your mind. If your neighbours rub two rocks, don’t judge them but be inspired by the spark they create. Reflect on your everyday life and on how it could be improved. Outdo yourself. Broaden your horizons. Think big. Act for the common good.
What we call contamination is the most successful way to create new products, come up with new initiatives and socially responsibile activities.
The effort that we need to make today is to shift our focus from customer value to stakeholder value. Any need, desire, shock, celebration can generate such value. What makes the difference is the role of the creators: they will also be the recipients of this type of innovation that aims at replicating a positive impact. And you, have you thought of ways in which you could use your business as a force for good? Have you ever organized a fundraising event? Do you offer scholarships? Are you thinking about a new governance model or a new mission which contemplates future generations?
Don’t be shy. Share the spark that helped you creating new ideas. Tell others what your organization does as your experience could have a great impact and encourage others to innovate.
As well as families share their adventures, successes, obstacles and remarkable photos that become part of a common story, organizations can share their own stories. On one hand the consumers will have the chance to identify themselves with the brand and its values, and on the other hand these stories will inspire others to work in sinergy towards the creation of a new future.
But don’t get stuck on your own story. It’s important to listen to others so to renew your energy.
Only by acting in this way will we be able to innovate and improve ourselves. It will be the chance to write the chapters that at the beginning of our story we didn’t think were possible.
When you read your story, you will be surprised to notice how the people that interacted with you influenced your thoughts and marked important transitions. In the last paragraph, you will also be suprised to read the need – or maybe the opportunity – of a new chapter. What’s magic about your story is its eternal and unpredictable flux: many pages have already been written, but many more are yet to be filled. And you are the one holding the pen now!
